Mo/Me 55hp Royen Beastkeeper Solo!
I had seen this guys bow, and have been slaving over a build to solo him. Well, I've finally perfected one.
First things first:
The Bow: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Royen%27s_Hornbow
The Boss: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Royen_Beastkeeper
The Build:
Monk/Mesmer
Equipment:
Typical 55 equipment here... Make sure you also have a -20hp item as well, that is the key to this build. I am pictured with a -50 item, but that's because I was done killing him, and i felt like putting it back on :P
-Any sword/axe with an enchantment grip of +18% or higher.
-The -50 Focus Item and a -20 item. (Important!)
-Tattos from Lion's Arch, with 5 superior runes.
Walk Thru:
Okay, start at Senji's Corner, and exit out into Naphui Quarter (explorable). With your -50 item equipped, run the path in the provided map, untill you get to this point here...
...At which, you will aggro that group down there of Am Fah like an idiot and get your stupid self killed. Here's where that -20 Item comes into play. As soon as you res, Equip your -20 item, now you should have 13 HP. Re-cast your enchants, and proceed on down the path.
At certain points where you face large groups, use Illusion of Haste to get by them into a safe spot and let your energy regen. It is vital that you are not casting away your enchants, as you do not have blessed signet here. When you get to the bridge, draw all the baddies away, and sprint across the bridge that connects to the area with Royen. Once here, comes the tough part.
You will need to eliminate the Jade Brotherhood Ritualists first. If there are more than 2 that spawn togeather, this will be tricky, but not impossible. As long as you keep whacking the hell out of him, his and his comrade's soothing memories will be no match for your IW.
Once the ritualists are down, next on your hit list is Royen's Pet, an Elder Crane. A few swings of your sword with IW up should drop the bird in no time. Eliminating his pet is essential to the success of your run, as Royen's pet is the medium that he uses to poison you. With no poison, you will no longer need Healing Breeze. The +4 pip regen of mending will be more than enough healing.
After you have taken out Royen's pet, the mesmers are the next to go. Taking them out couldn't be easier. Just repeat the previous strategy.
There should be at least one Knight hanging out with him, keep him alive so you can leech off the energy he's providing you through Balthazar's Spirit.
You may have noticed that I have chosen to bring Conjure Phantasm. This is due to the fact that all bosses have a natural +3 health regen pip, and he uses troll ungent. He casts it too fast, so its not really worth interrupting. You can try.. but its a waste of time. Using conjure phantasm will render his skills useless. Keeping it on him should be fairly easy. Remember, at this point you should not be having to cast Healing Breeze, so you should have enough energy.
Just keep slashing away at him with IW up, and he'll be down in no time.
Well, thanks for reading. If you have any questions, my IGN is Alexi Vittu. Thanks

A -20 HP Focus item can be obtained as a quest reward from the Pre-Searing quest Poor Tenant. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Poor_Tenant
Also, focus items can be dropped randomly from any enemy in the game which can have an -20 hp as one of their mods.
Thank you.

Well this is all cool and stuff but I've been soloing royen as a N/mo for a long time. Good job on the build though.
The funny thing is that you don't hear of him being soloed much but his drop rate is still horrible.

Thanks, but what build do you use? Surely, you couldn't 55, cause you'd get interrupted

I think you're getting confused here...
I was asking him what N/Mo Build he was using... N/mo, as in no mantra of resolve.

Theres ways around interrupts as long as you have talent you dont need a skill to do it for you. I solo all of the Jade Brotherhood N/Mo 55(not SS) I solo naga too but they're so hard its usually less productive.

Nobody ever said it was possible to use mantras as a N/Mo you are confusing the posts. He was asking me how i was countering all the interrupts without the mantras. People forget about the old concept of decoy skills and cover hexes. I don't use cover hexes here but they're the same concept use the skill to make them use the skill that would be countering your real important skill. If you can understand my horribly worded sentence =P

That's lovely and all, but i have no room for decoy skills, and even if i did, there's usually 3-4 mesmers per pack.
